In the name of Zoë

I have loved and followed Zoë Saldana pretty much so meticulously I've had my nose stuck between her boobies since before Avatar. Like, Center Stage days, but then disappeared a bit till she returned fully glam and retardly beautiful. However, the one thing - or should I say one accessory - that I am positively smitten with good ol' Zo is her sublime choice of shoes.

Surriously.

Every single outfit she wears - and oh boy, has she worn some of my FAVORITE pieces from so many designers I die a little at the couture overload - she wears the most ideal, fitting heels with each look!

I mean, it's insane!

But obviously in ze best fabulous way possible. I idolize her style. Plus, she has a rockin' hot bod from years of ballet. My ideal scene for how I've always wanted to be skinny, though I managed with my own choice of workout.

Shout out to Ab crunch Pilates VHS!

So, what is it that creates gorgeous Zoë's masterpiece outfits? Her stylist? Her boldness? Sassiness? Confidence? I'mma go with all of ze above. Who are we kidding? Hollywood women can have some really top notch taste in fashion, but it's usually the stylist's that tie it all up in a wonderful French bow.

I'm sorta known as the stylist of my bestie group. I'm constantly being asked to dress my girlies or go shopping with them or help them find something to wear from their closets when we go out on the (meh) town.

And I kinda really lobe it. Matching up different articles of clothing with accessories and mm, shoes...(and by shoes, I mean heels)...it satisfies me with a great big warm fashionista cup of coffee. Wait, scratch that. Cup of vanilla latte, not coffee. I gotta have me some flava.

Flavor flave! Yeeeeee boiiiiiiiiiiiii.

Anyway, whether it's spring or winter, Zoë knows how to dress to impress. Ubber cute. Ubber chic. Ubber stunning. I've yet to see something on her person that hasn't knocked me over with a bottle of fabulous. And it's not just over the course of a publicity tour for a movie, or even a year. Naw, it's been since about 2008 that I've kept a peeping eye on Zoë Saldana.

She really stepped it up a notch (or a gazillion) during Star Trek's promo tour.

 I loved her long hair.

 2009 was definitely the year of the Zoë. It just happened to be my year for choosing my favorite collection pieces from a variety of designers -- all of which Zoë somehow managed to wear, pulling it off flawlessly. We were so on the same page it ain't even funny (but it is).

Like, she wore the one Emilio Pucci sequin dress I liked of his (above ^) AND paired it with my favorite 'It' pair of Brian Atwood heels of that moment. I mean, come on. Our brains were practically one.

She's sew cute I kinda don't know what to do with myself.

Another superb thing about the dancer/model/actress is that she knows how to work it with small boobs. Yaya! sister, wez be in the same little A boat. But you know something that I think guys forget as well as women, for that matter?

A is the highest grade you can receive.

B is meh.

C is bad.

D is awful and E and F are just plain flunks.

So why do all these men want such a horrible graded girl? It's the same for meat at the market. You don't want C grade ground chuck beef. You want A grade! What the frex huh? Buck up and take example with Zoë's fantastic taste of wearing things that girls with C and D grades would look vulgar and distasteful in and stick with an A student working what she has.

 GORGEOUS!
(I was gonna put a copyright sign after this, but remembered I get major flack for zhat.)

BALMAIN.
Nuff said.

Nude, lace and ruffles.
Amazing.

The shoulder pads, the scarf, the white jeans!
God, I lobe her.

 THE HEELS.

 So coot even in jeans and a tweed jacket.

 The heels AND the turquoise earrings!
Mwah!
 I kiss my fingers in satisfaction.

  I LOBE how she rocks white!
It looks beautous with her skin tone.
Plus, the cutouts.
I, however, can not exactly wear white unless I'm not afraid of looking translucent...

Her subtle tattoos are adorable!
Plus, she's wearing Calvin Klein.
Which I'm not necessarily fond of, but she looks mighty purty.
(Sure, when you want clean lines and simplicity, go Calvin Klein.)

I was so overwhelmingly in love with this Givenchy gown it was stupid crazy.

 This Roland Mouret dress is just the epitome of perfection for her.

When she wore this sequin and tulle Marchesa gown - Oh Lordy. Oh sweet lightening bolts of Zeus. NO ONE, not a single celebrity had worn that dress from Marchesa's Spring collection earlier in the year because it was so bold and heavy.

But Zoë rocked it and I literally freaked the freak out when I saw the picture. I exclaimed my love for her and her fashion sense after that. It was meant to be. In a non-stalker obsession, of course.

^
Ungh, the studded Christian Louboutin peep toes.
Parfait with the draped black dress!

 Oh the shoes...

She just can't friggin' go wrong in the shoe department!!
Or life.

Zoë, I toast you and your impeccable taste in footwear (i.e. heels).

New Celeb Guy Crush

I love discovering hot new guys.
It's just so frickin' swell.
Latest and the chiseled-est, Dave Franco.

Yep, James Franco's little bro. Hottay wit a bottay! Sad part? Seems James hogged all the tall height, Dave's only 5'7 :/ With that bod and smile though, I'd be okay wearing three inch heels as the highest. He has that thick, deep voice and has the best jawline I've seen in years.

Take a look for yaself darlings.

 Oh hey abs. You looking fine tonight.

 SEXAY

 He rocks those eyebrows something fierce.
And by fierce, I mean hawt.

He's such a mix of Ed Westwick and Paul Wesley it's insane!
Be still my heart.

Also, he is hysterical. I laughed so much during this funny or die video:

Photo of the Night

Holy. Balls.

Nuff said.

Plus exquisite.

And ethereal.

In a funky edge/revealing kinda way.

Also, I love Marchesa.

Vintage Garb has Stolen my Harte

BE CALM????
I'M FREAKING OUT HERE FROM THRIFTING WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????!!!!!!

Online shopping is and will be my downfall. It's so easy to just click and - poop! - you've bought orders upon orders of fabulous apparel. Last weekend it was vintage jewelry, which I've got the bulk of basically with a couple more waiting to be delivered. I've decided that my quirk fashion thing will be wearing vintage necklaces so I've purchased an array of diamondy beauties ranging mainly from the 60's.

Easy to say I'm hopelessly in love.

But, last night I was browsing an online flea market and came across the mother load of all amazing, stupendously chic vintage clothing. And it all started with a teal 1965 prom dress...for a $1. Si, a dollar! Numero uno. Aside from smelling funky from being in storage since the night after it was worn nigh four decades and some years, it's in sweet condition.

FOR ONE WHOLE DOLLAR!!!!!

Obviously I snatched that baby up and will coo over it fondly once it arrives. It began a chain reaction where I searched that shop's items till I came across this OUTSTANDING 1960's wool sheath dress with FUR SLEEVED CUFFS. 10 bucks, plus a vintage cocktail ring AND vintage tortoise shell sunglasses for 5 each and I scooped those up too.

I suddenly this past week had a dire thirst for tortoise shell sunglasses and finding these steal of a deal sunnies was almost as good as finding my now authentic Chanel bag at a thirst store for 40 dollars last year. Almost. Not quite since, come on. It's Chanel and the store had no idea it was real. There's no beatin' that.
Anypoo, my next treasure find was what sent my heart reeling and my bank account buzzing. Kinda. Not really come to think of it. I'm still a bargain hunter and unless it's designer and still reasonably priced (aka close to 20 bucks) I'll splurge. So, just kidding, though my heart was pounding wif excitement over this discovery!

It's a mini dress. It's high collared. It's sleeveless (hint hint at the era). It's black velvet. It has a jeweled column running down the middle of it. It has a cream, chiffon pleated skirt. It's from 1960.

Yes. Feel that crazy stirring beneath your breast. Let that fabulous, wonderful image sink in.

There will be pictures. Oh, hellz yea there will be pictures. Once I get these golden relics of a time I so badly want to be a part of, Princessa and I shall be photo shooting up a storm of vintage extreme! I'm overwhelmed and feel like crying blissful, joyous tears from my soon to be updated wardrobe.
Yet, there's more! Two more articles, in fact!

(Indeed, I'm that crafty.) One, that I simply had to buy because how could I pass up such a deal for a high fashion designer? The designer being Giorgio Armani and the deal being a pair of navy blue pleated high-waisted pants from the 80's. Um. Chyeah. Fantastico to the millionth power...cubed. That's right, I cubed it.

They may be a little big on the hips, but the inseam is perfecto for wearing them with heels. Which I will fervently wear them with, of course. Plus, my tailor Deolinda is wicked awesome and charges, like, $8 for tailoring pants. Scorezy!

Last, but not least cause I am returning to that wondrous land full of beautiful vintage pieces just waiting to be bought with my crisp, new paycheck. Also, did I mention that almost every seller is having a winter sale? Yee son. And this last item is supa sweet. Bright purple (but like the cute bright purple, not the tacky) with that sturdy, pleated-like chiffon overlay - floor length - a dress, obviously, and from Neiman Marcus circa 1963.

*Hallelujah chorus* Jackpot! Though the actual lottery jackpot would be even better so I could buy all this stuff I saw, but was too expensive. However, let's not get off subject here. Usually post's such as this one are accompanied by flamboyant photos of said vintage clothes, but you need to refer to a couple paragraphs up for that.

I was hasty to reveal my findings (Uh, who wouldn't with the haul I scored?) so suck it up and wait it out with me till they're in my clutches and I never let go. The pictures will follow because I'd be stupid not to share them at least electronically. Are ya wif me?

Leather, Chiffon, Embellishment...Hell yeah!

Okee, now while I start to really amp up my blogging and muster some subjects that won't make you snooze off to dreamland, I'll stick with something that I've already researched and organized (I like to be organized. Don't judge). It may not be inspiration for me, I tend to go with the flow, but I am privy to fawning over runway looks like a mouse being given a huge wheel of stinky cheese.

Mm-hmm, that's a lot, you know...in case you didn't realize. Figured I'd help ya out there...

 Collection un: Balmain Spring 2011

  ^
I die a little bit not owning leather capris.

^
I lurve the leather studded jacket with the leather zipper shorts.
I've been dressing edgy so these looks are parfait with my mood!

 ^
Sheer brilliance that Christophe mixed an acid wash jean jacket with studded sleeves!!
Oh my gawd does it work!

~~~~~~
 Collection Deux: J. Mendel Spring 2011
I love the airy creams and flowing fabric, plus the drapery!
Then to add the orange heels for a pop...wunderbar!
~~~~~

Collection Trois: Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2011
I love her. Like she is so adorable and fabulous and funky, but clean.
Her bags are my chocolate and bouffants and now her shoes too!

~~~~~~
Collection Quatre: Ellie Saab Spring 2011
You can always count on Saab for elegance, amazing shapes and stunning embellishments.
You are my world of black tie parties day in, day out.
I dunno why, but I'm digging the pale orange.
I'm obsessed with baby blue and this gown is my own personal siren call.
^
 Love the cutout waist!
 ^
This makes me wish I could pull off creamy pallors.
Alas....
 ^ Yes, please!
~~~~~~
And the final Collection: Matthew Williamson Spring 2011
(Keep in mind these are only the ones that caught my fancy for said year and season runway.)

I adore a tiny, intricate bustier with long, flowing pants.
It's...sizzling?
Whatever it is, I'm gonna rock it.

^
Again with the blue, but also just look at the craftiness of the details!
The neckline, the leather straps, the woven pattern into the teal color!
Fabo.

What's the time?

Tick, tick, tick.

Quoi? It's 2011? HOW? Sacre bloody bleu!

It's been...a bit since my last (ahem and only) post, but hey, new year, new start! So, bonsoir darlings. After reading the runway inspirations from my best gal pal, Princessa, on her blog I was overcome with the desire to blog again myself! Even after she had been trying to persuade me just last week and I was so defiant!

Bless ya, Princessa.

And Skyelarkbirdy.

You two babes keep me on my toes with your blog posts, drowning me in same pageness and too beautiful for words fashion and wit.

We'll see how I fair.

Baby steps - posting again a few times a week and finally returning to the blessed lookbook profile I have! With all the photo shoots I've done (for funzy's and the thrill of capturing my bloated wardrobe this past year!) I accumulated quite a back log of lookbook looks.

It excites me!

Here's to my attempt at exciting you, my sweeties.

Lobe and zealous head kisses,
Sparkle
